This Privacy Policy explains how Tiimpay collects, uses, shares, and protects your information when you use Tiimpay.
We collect information you provide directly, such as your name, phone number, email address, national ID details (for identity verification), and PIN (stored in encrypted/hashed form, never in plain text). We also collect transaction data (transfers, withdrawals, deposits), device information (device ID, OS version), and approximate location data when required for fraud prevention.
We use your information to: create and manage your account; process transactions between users, wallets, and agents; verify your identity and prevent fraud; send transaction notifications and security alerts; comply with legal and regulatory obligations (such as anti-money-laundering requirements); and improve the reliability and security of our services.
We do not sell your personal information. We may share limited data with: agents involved in a specific transaction (such as your name and phone number, to confirm your identity); payment processors and banking partners who help move funds; regulators or law enforcement when required by law; and service providers who support our infrastructure (e.g., cloud hosting), under confidentiality obligations.
We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encrypted storage of sensitive fields, hashed PINs, HttpOnly cookie-based session handling on our admin systems, and JWT-based authentication with token versioning for our mobile app. No system is completely secure, and we encourage you to keep your PIN and device secure.
We retain transaction records and account information for as long as your account is active and for a period afterward as required by applicable financial regulations, to support audits, dispute resolution, and legal compliance.
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of your personal information, subject to our regulatory record-keeping obligations. You may also request a copy of your transaction history at any time by contacting support.
Tiimpay is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes through the app or by other reasonable means. Continued use of Tiimpay after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
